New Statewide Financial and Procurement System
The State of Mississippi values our vendor business partners. This communication is to make or vendors aware of a current state initiative that will impact our vendor community.
On July 1, 2014, the State of Mississippi will deploy the initial functionality of Mississippi’s Accountability System for Government Information and Collaboration, “MAGIC.” MAGIC is Mississippi state government’s Enterprise Resource Planning solution, based on SAP Public Sector software. MAGIC’s initial implementation will include finance, procurement, fleet management, inventory management, grants management, and data warehouse functionality for state government agencies.
MAGIC’s implementation will have an impact on our state’s vendor partners and the way we do business together. As a vendor, you will interact with the State through a new vendor self-service portal that consolidates vendor registration, State agencies’ solicitations for products and services, proposal submission, and contracting.
With MAGIC’s implementation, the State will continue to use PayMode for electronic vendor payments and electronic invoicing but will discontinue use of WebProcure and the current statewide accounting system. Active vendors in those systems will be migrated to MAGIC. Because you and your company has done business with Mississippi state agencies on or after July 1, 2011, you are considered an active vendor.
All converted vendors will need to take action to complete their registration once MAGIC is implemented. Specific details on MAGIC’s vendor registration and confirmation process are still in the development phase; however, they will be ready for you to conduct business with the State at MAGIC go-live. You will receive additional communication with instructions as the procedures are finalized.
This letter has been sent to all vendors for which the State has an email address on file; however, if you did not receive this letter via email please provide us your email address to receive future communication. The MAGIC project team has deployed a vendor channel on the MAGIC website to allow you to provide us your email and to receive additional vendor communication.
