Mississippi to lead Delegation at 9th Annual Southeastern U.S. – Canadian Provinces Alliance Conference in Nashville, Tenn.

Jackson, Miss. – The State of Mississippi will lead a delegation of business leaders and economic development professionals at the 9th Annual Southeastern U.S. – Canadian Provinces Alliance Conference. The event will take place May 25-27, 2016 at the Omni Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.

The SEUS-CP Alliance is a strategic partnership between states in the Southeastern U.S. and member provinces from Canada. In addition to Mississippi, member states include Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Member provinces include Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Québec. The alliance works to promote trade and investment opportunities between and among its member states and provinces.

“Canada is Mississippi’s top trade partner. Through that partnership, we share strong economic, cultural and social ties,” said Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “The SEUS-CP conference is a cost-effective means for Mississippi businesses and economic developers to expand business relationships while pursuing new prospects with their Canadian counterparts.”

This year’s SEUS-CP conference is expected to unite more than 200 business and government leaders from the alliance’s member states and Canadian provinces. It will provide participants with opportunities to forge new business relationships and strengthen existing trade and investment connections.

The conference will also feature the Business-to-Business Matchmaking Program, which is designed to identify potential strategic partnerships and business development opportunities between delegates. Pre-scheduled, one-on-one meetings and panel discussions will take place in the following key sectors: healthcare technologies and management, entertainment industries, transportation (digital/mobile technologies cross-cutting automotive, rail, ports and watercraft), advanced manufacturing and more.
